We're the CPA firm you call before the decision, not after.
Most people meet their accountant once a year, hand over a folder, and find out what they owe. That conversation is a record of decisions already made. By the time a return is prepared, the opportunities that mattered most have usually closed.
Dominick Consulting was built the other way around. We're a CPA firm for business owners and people building wealth, and our work happens in the months before a return is ever filed: how a business is structured, how an owner pays themselves, when income lands, what a sale or an exercise or a purchase is going to cost. Tax preparation is a service we provide. It isn't what we sell.
Tax returns document the past. Tax planning shapes the future.
What Makes Us Different
Every firm says it offers planning. Here's what that means in practice for us.
We're structured around strategy, not compliance.
Accurate returns are the floor, not the value. Our greatest value is helping you make a better decision before that decision becomes a tax consequence.
We work with you all year.
Planning conversations happen in June and October, not just in March. Most meaningful tax savings come from timing, structure, and sequencing, and none of those can be fixed in April.
We'll tell you when a strategy isn't right for you.
Not every strategy fits every client. We've talked clients out of moves that looked good on paper and didn't hold up against their actual numbers. That honesty is the reason our clients call us first.
We explain things clearly.
If a strategy can't be explained simply, it probably hasn't been understood well enough. You should leave every conversation knowing what we recommended, why, and what happens next.
We don't compete on price.
We compete on outcomes: fewer surprises, better decisions, and a lower lifetime tax bill.
Who We Work With
Our clients aren't defined by industry or income floor. They're successful people whose financial lives have outgrown basic tax preparation, and who'd rather think ahead than react.
Business Owners
You've built something profitable and you're focused on growth. Your questions have moved past how to file. Now they sound like: Am I structured correctly? Should I elect S corporation status? What's the right way to pay myself? What should I be doing before year end? We work with owners across services, retail, e-commerce, agencies, consulting, professional practices, and everything adjacent.
Wealth Builders
You're an executive, physician, attorney, engineer, investor, or property owner with income arriving from more than one direction. Equity compensation, a rental portfolio, a business interest, a coming liquidity event. You want an advisor who connects this year's tax decisions to the life you're building, not one who reports on them after the fact.
We're probably not the right fit if you want the cheapest return available, prefer to talk to your CPA once a year, or aren't interested in planning. That's a real service, and there are firms that do it well. It isn't this one.
The Modern Client Experience
Every client has one place to go. Documents, signatures, questions, the calls on your calendar. You’re never digging through an email to find where something stands.
Working with us, start to finish
We're a technology-first firm, 100% remote, serving clients in any state. Technology supports the relationship here. It never replaces it.
You'll never drive to an office. Meetings happen by video, scheduled when they work for you. Being remote is why we can hire the best tax professional for the job instead of the best one within commuting distance.
Documents move securely and once. Encrypted upload, no email attachments with your Social Security number in them, no fax machine, no shoebox.
Signatures happen on your phone. E-signature on returns and engagement letters, done in a minute.
You get answers, not silence. Questions get real responses in a defined window, not a callback after filing season ends. Onboarding is organized and led by a person whose job is making sure nothing falls through.
Planning is a scheduled event, not a hope. We build a plan, project where your return is heading, and walk you through it before the year closes.
Meet the Team
Kyle is supported by a growing team of experienced tax advisory professionals, deliberately built as a remote-first firm so our talent isn't limited by geography.
Kyle Dominick CPA
Founder & Principal
Kyle founded Dominick Consulting in 2014 with one goal: help business owners and people building wealth keep more of what they earn through planning that happens before the return, not after it.
His background is audit and corporate finance. Before starting the firm, he served as Controller for a multinational company, running complex financial systems and compliance operations. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Washington State University and a Master's in Professional Accounting from the University of Washington, and he's licensed as a CPA in Washington State. That combination built the habit he brings to every client relationship: get the details exactly right, then step back and look at where the whole picture is heading.
Today Kyle leads the firm's work in strategic tax planning for wealth building and preservation, business structure and owner compensation, and long-term financial clarity for growing companies.
Clients tend to describe him the same way: clear, practical, and willing to give a real answer. He's the person who tells you what he'd do in your position, not the person who lists your options and wishes you luck.
Outside of work, Kyle is a busy husband and dad to three young kids. He’s outside as often as possible, skiing, wake surfing, mountain biking, or planning the next camping trip to check off another U.S. National Park.
Andrea “Drea” Foster
Senior Tax Manager
Drea brings more than 20 years of public accounting experience to the firm, with deep expertise in tax preparation and review, compliance, financial reporting, and small business advisory. She has worked with thousands of individual and business clients across a wide range of industries, led remote tax teams, managed large client portfolios, and reviewed complex returns at every level.
Her career spans roles as Tax Manager, Tax Reviewer, Auditor, and Internal Audit Supervisor, at organizations from small businesses to publicly traded companies. That range gives her both the technical rigor and the practical judgment to handle whatever lands on the desk.
She's also a business owner herself. Drea owns and operates a 26-acre recreational facility in her hometown, hosting community events, leagues, and private gatherings. Payroll, seasonality, capital purchases, and cash flow aren't abstractions to her. She's making those calls in her own business, which sharpens how she reads a client's.
At Dominick Consulting, Drea leads tax review and client work, and holds the firm's standards steady as we grow.
Hobie Hedquist
Tax Advisory Associate
Hobie Hedquist joined Dominick Consulting after graduating from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2026, completing his degree a year ahead of schedule.
Raised on his family’s corn and soybean farm in Minnesota, Hobie learned the value of hard work and dedication from an early age. While earning his degree, he balanced Division I athletics, playing collegiate hockey at the University of North Dakota during his freshman and sophomore years before transferring to Ferris State University for his junior season.
During college, Hobie gained hands-on experience working in public accounting during tax season, where he developed a strong foundation in tax preparation and client service. He is currently working toward his Certified Public Accountant license and is focused on expanding his knowledge while providing dependable service to clients.
Outside of the office, Hobie enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing whenever he gets the chance, and cheering on the New York Knicks. He is excited to begin his career and looks forward to building lasting relationships with clients.
Bridget Helton
Client Coordinator & Communications Specialist
Bridget owns the systems and the communication that make working with us feel organized from the first email forward. She runs new client onboarding start to finish, and she owns Karbon, the practice management platform every engagement here runs through.
She brings 11 years at Comcast to the role, where she administered Workday across the enterprise. That's the same work at a different scale: taking a platform an entire organization depends on and making it do what people actually need it to do. At Dominick Consulting she rebuilt the onboarding workflow in Karbon, writes the templates and checklists the team works from, and drafts the client-facing communication that goes out with them. The result is that every client hears from us the same way, and nothing gets dropped in a handoff between team members.
Bridget also produces the client presentations behind our Tax Advisory Service engagements, and she's working toward her QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification to support the firm's bookkeeping and payroll clients.
Her instinct is to fix the process, not just the task in front of her. If something took a client three steps more than it should have, she'll say so, and then she'll go rebuild it.
As we grow, we'll continue adding experienced professionals across the country, because the best person for the job shouldn't have to live within driving distance of an office.
Let’s Look at 2026 While You Can Still Change It
Every strategy available to you has a deadline attached to it, and most of them land well before April.
How your business is structured. How you pay yourself. When income lands, when gains get realized, when equity gets exercised. The decisions worth the most are the ones still in front of you.
That's what the Tax Savings Blueprint is for. For the 2026 tax year, we review your returns and your current-year documents, project where this year's return is heading, and walk you through it on a call. You'll leave knowing your tax position, which strategies are actually available to you, and what to do next. Even if what you do next doesn't involve us.
It starts with a free intro call. Answer a few quick questions so we understand your situation before we're on the phone, then pick a time that works.
No forms and no questionnaire. Pick a time, simple as that.
